I Love You

Before I had hurt you with my actions
Now, I regret my decisions
I ask for your forgiveness
To blow away your sadness

I love you with all my heart
But the war tore us apart
Now forgive me please
I want all this to cease

I love you
But do you feel the same way I do?
Can we bring back our past?
And this time let it last

Let our love be forever
Let us stay with each other
I was lost without you by my side
I shouldn't have lied

You're the one that holds my heart
All over again can we start
At the beginning,
With no more lying?

I love you
I love you
I love you

I hold you now
I won't let go
Afraid of losing you once more
Cagalli, don't leave my side
Cause I won't yours
I'll be with you forever

I love you
I love you
I love you
Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam SEED and or Destiny or any of its characters.

Meh... Whoa... My first DA submission. :omg:

Anyhoo~ This poem isn't new at all, tho. But it was my first ever poem. It's about and dedicated to my favourite Gundam SEED/Destiny couple, Athrun and Cagalli. =D

*So, sorry if some of it sucks. This was made four years ago at 2006. O.o Even I'm surprised at that. ^^;

About the Poem:
This poem is written through the first person view, in this case this person is Athrun Zala. If you haven't seen Destiny, this could cause some spoilers.

Only just started watching Destiny (put it off, having heard mixed reviews. Didn't want to spoil the lasting impression Seed left with me - amazing series.) - Nothing's really been given away, so don't worry about spoilers.

Anyway, it's nice :) Generally, I prefer Athrun and Kira's more complex relationship, but as far as your standard romance goes, I like how they've been developing the bonds between Athrun and Cagalli (just finished episode...7, or 8, or 9... ends with Athrun going back to the Plants. Anyway...).

This poem captures a lot of the subtle emotion portrayed in the series. It feels...what's the word...canon? Accurate, anyway.

Nice work :)

Thanks for reading & commenting! I appreciate it! (Esp. for this old piece!)

Hohum~ When I made this five years ago (2006), I wasn't into the whole shounen-ai/yaoi/bromance thing, so all I had was Athrun and Cagalli (with the list of all other straight pairs). Now, if I watch SEED and Destiny again... well... I'd certainly see it a new light! :XD:

No problem :) If I refrained from reading and commenting on old pieces, then I'd be missing out on some of the best.

To be honest, I'm not sure whether I'm into the whole shounen-ai/yaoi/bromance thing, even now. I can see how it could be interpreted that way, and I can see myself liking it if it turned out that way (which it doesn't, I know) but equally, it wouldn't spoil my enjoyment of the series if it didn't...if that makes sense.

But their relationship - platonic or otherwise - has been the standout thing for me. I get attached to things that give me inspiration, and their relationship gives me inspiration. The frustrating thing is that there's not enough development for it...but I'll not ramble on about that now.

I've certainly come more around to Athrun and Cagalli's relationship since starting Destiny. It was my favourite of the conventional pairings from Seed, since it actually felt genuine (unlike that with Kira and Lacus...though that might be because I just find Lacus a little irritating), and I like how it's developing so far.

Anyway, sorry, I always ramble on for far too long where Seed and its characters are concerned. It's an unhealthy obsession, I'm sure lol ^^;

Naw, shucks. It's all right to ramble on - I used to ramble more than too much when I was so very into SEED and Destiny. ^^; (to the point where it got annoying they said :O_o:)

I'm currently into yaoi but back when I was watching SEED and Destiny, I wasn't. But Athrun and Kira's relationship did confuse the twelve year old me in so many ways. Though, I knew I didn't mind whatever relationship path they'd develop to. :meow:

Lacus doesn't annoy me that much, though. ^^; However, her relationship with Kira had been a favourite of mine for a short while but then, it seemed too... I don't know, sad or unrealistic? Since it was clear Kira still had feelings for Flay but then, at the same time, he was very close to Lacus, so IDK. It didn't bode well with me.

Cagalli and Athrun, they're my Cosmic Era OTP. ^^; But I wasn't very fond of what Destiny did to them, I was only happy Final Plus made it better. ^^;

lol I ramble, and then forget where I've rambled. It's usually too much, but I'll often have cleared off before anyone has a chance to tell me so.

Yeah. When was Seed being aired...2002-3ish? I'd have been 10 or 11, I think. Far too young to really appreciate it ^^; bit of a shame to have missed out on the fandom at its peak, but I'd rather watch it later and understand, than have watched it at the time just to stare blankly through the dialogue, waiting for the mechs lol. That said, I watched Wing when it was first aired, and I think I followed it...

I think I like the angst and tragedy of Athrun and Kira's relationship, regardless of what else can be looked into it. For me, it represents the acceptable face of teenage angst (as does Kira throughout much of Destiny, it seems, since he's basically been taken over by angst lol). I like the reluctant conflict, emotional turmoil - all that fun, depressing stuff. It inspires me to write...and ramble, of course.

I wasn't a massive fan of Kira and Lacus when they introduced it in Seed because it just struck me as being a very clunky, artificial glueing together or two characters who are concerned primarily with ideology (here's me being all serious and analytical, and we're talking about anime). Lacus just struck me as being a bit of a one-dimensional character. Moreso than Kira, though he was given a pretty clear path towards the end of that series. The fact that he seems to use it to make Athrun doubt pretty much every questionable move he makes is...amusing, to me lol.

Yeah, I liked the start of Destiny (to be honest, I'm not even half way yet, but still) with Athrun's awkwardness (I'm not a people person - I sympathise), and the engagement of sorts. Genuinely wanted to smack that purple-haird what'shisname character she was supposed to be marrying, which can only be a compliment to the series' ability to capture me, and then Kira's refusal to take Athrun's ring back and...but anyway, I see Athrun has at least three different women after him now, so I think I can guess at what you're referring to when you say you don't like what Destiny did to Athrun and Cagalli.

Must remember - final plus, not the normal one. Final plus sounds much better. Would like to see Athrun beat Shinn...

Oh look at that, another long comment lol ^^;
